Economic Development Agency for the holidays in December 1991. The
Common Council on January 21, 1992 approved closing City Hall for the
Christmss holidays coming up in December 1992.

Closure of EDA Buildina Durin. Chri..... Holidavs
The request to close the Economic Development Agency for the holiday
period of December 24, 1992 to January 3, 1993 will coincide with the
same period that most of City Hall will be closed for business to the
public. This action is seen as a cost savings measure and employee
morale booster. This action will affect Agency staff and operations
located in the 201 Building only.
By requesting approval over two (2) months in advance of actual Closing,
the Agency has ample time to arrange meetings and notify the staff and
the public to avoid problems. The CODllllon Council has already taken a
similar action related to the closure of City Hall during the same
period of time. Based upon the pilot program initiated by the EDA
during the 1991 Christmas holiday season, staff was able to determine
that many of the Agency's development clients shut down their business
operations during the same periOd of time.
