Synopsis of Previous Council action:
June, 1990 -- Allocation of $40,000 from CDBG Funds, approved in
1990/91 Budget for renovation of Johnson Hall Com-
munity Center.
Recommended motion:
That the plans for rehabilitation of Johnson Hall Community
Center, in accordance with Plan No. 8800, be approved: and the
Director of Public Works/City Engineer authorized to advertise
for bids.

Plans for the rehabilitation of Johnson Hall Corrununity
Center have been prepared by the Public Works Department, and the
project is ready to be advertised for bids. The project
consists, in general, of replacing the ceiling lights and acous-
tical tiles, installing a drinking fountain, and various other
items.
Below is an estimate of the total project cost:

An amount of $40,000 was allocated in CDBG funds for the
rehabili tation of Johnson Hall Corrununi ty Center. Contracts for
installation of an air-conditioning system and tubular steel
fence have been financed from this amount. The available balance
is about $19,000, which means that supplemental funds in the
amount of $2,500 may be needed to fully finance the total esti-
mated project cost. We recorrunend that the provision of supple-
mental funds be deferred until the bids are opened and the actual
low bid price is known.
We recorrunend that the plans be approved and authorization
granted to advertise for bids.
