Synopsis of Previous Council action:
08-20-84 Resolution No. 84-335 adopted declaring henefit. to all
properties within district boundary.
11-08-84 -- Resolution No. 84-448 adopted determining public interest~
convenience and necessity require fO:::-!'1i1tion of maintenance
district and establishing district.
06-19-89 Resolution No. 89-195 adopted a\larding a contract to C & D
Landscaping for the low bid price of $13,870.00.
06-04-90 Resolution No. 90-196 adopted awarding a contract to
Mentone Turf Supply for the low bid price of $12,705.00.
06-03-91 Change Order No. One, extending the contract one year, at
no increase in the contract prices, approved.

Recommended motion:
1. That Change Order No. 4 to the contract with Mentone Turf &
Supply, for maintenance of landscaping in Assessment District No.
959, in accordance with Plan No. 6360, be approved; to adjust the
contract price, for the additional work included in the contract
by Change Order No.2, by $22,818.15, from $10,839.25 to
$33,657.40.

contract to include Zone 1 of the Shandin Hills Lncp
Area, at an increase in the contract price of $10,839.25,
from $12,705.00 to $23,544.25.
06-15-92 -- Change Order No. Three approved, expanding the scope of
the work and extending the term of the contract for a one
year period, at an increase in the contract price of
$143,587.47, from $23,544.25 to $167,131.72.

STAFF REPORT
Maintenance of the large slope area (625,148 sq. ft.) and
additional landscaping area (213,906 sq. ft.) was assumed by
Assessment District No. 959 on 4-1-92, after the one year plant
establishment period had expired.
Price quotes were solicited from the Contractor for this
additional landscaping. These quotes were for the 3-month period
from 4-1-92 to 6-30-92. The Contractor submitted a price quote
of $43,357.40 for Basic Bid plus the supplemental items of work.
This quote was for the period of 3 months, from 4-1-92 to 6-30-
92.
However, when Change Order No.

The terms and provisions of the contract documents are hereby

1. The following adjustment for compensation to be provided to the

for the period from April 1,1992 thru June 30, 1992, from

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING AN
INTERFUND LOAN FROM THE SEWER LINE CONSTRUCTION FUND (245) TO THE
SPECIAL ASSESSMENT FUND (251), IN THE AMOUNT OF $22,818.15 TO
FRONT THE ESTIMATED COSTS INCURRED FROM APRIL 1, 1992, TO JUNE
30, 1992, IN CONNECTION WITH THE MAINTENANCE OF LANDSCAPING IN
PORTIONS OF KENDALL DRIVE AND SHANDIN HILLS, THROUGH ASSESSMENT
DISTRICT NO. 959.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Director of Finance is hereby directed to
make an inter fund loan from the Sewer Line Construction Fund
(245) in the amount of $22,818.15, to front the actual costs
incurred from April 1, 1992, to June 30, 1992, in connection with
the maintenance of landscaping in portions of Kendall Drive and
Shandin Hills, through Assessment District No. 959.
SECTION 2. The loan from the Sewer Line Construction
Fund (245) shall be repaid with interest, at the prevailing
