Recommended motion:

That the
authorized

REQUEST ~ COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
A request was received from Sheldon and Rita Penn to vacate the North/South alley
(known as Vale Alley) which lies Westerly of their property on "D" street. As
there are 4 other adjoining property owners which are affected by this process, Hr.
and Hrs. Penn will need to approach the other owners to get their concurrence with
this petition. Staff will also be notifying the adjoining owners at the
appropriate times during the vacation process.
The petitioner has deposited the required $500.00, which represents one-half of the
total fee of $1,000.00. The remaining $500.00 will be due after the investigative
proceedings.
There has been
approximately 15
adjoining owners
at least one previous request to vacate this short alley (it is
feet by 140 feet), This previous request fell short as the other
did not want to vacate the alley.
