STAFF REPORT

Set workshop for January 22, 2001 at 12:00 noon regarding the proposed 1-215 Improvement Project.
Backl!round:
A Value Analysis "team" was formed last year to evaluate alternative conceptual designs for the
proposed 1-215 improvements proposed through the City of San Bernardino, That team consisted of
technical staff representing CAL TRANS, SANBAG, and the City of San Bernardino.
Over the past year a number of technical studies have been completed including traffic modeling done
by the City staff, a number of team meetings held, and several workshops attended by business leaders,
legislative representatives, and technical staff. As a result of that process, the Value Analysis team has
arrived at a Preferred Alternative from among the three that were being evaluated. The purpose of this
workshop is for team members to present the alternatives$ the reasons why it was selected and answer
any questions the Mayor and Common Council may have regarding the project or the Value Analysis
process,

Recommendation:
Staff recommends that a workshop be set for 12:00 P.M. January 22, 2001 at the Economic
Development boardroom to receive information regarding the proposed 1-215 improvement project,
