In San Bernardino, the situation is resulting in higher electricity bills for businesses and residents, as well as the City itself. At the Mayor's request, the Ways and Means Committee is exploring options concerning a rebate of Utility User's Tax paid by businesses in order to provide some degree of financial relief. It is anticipated that this matter will be brought forward for consideration of the full Council in the near future. In the meantime, the Committee has recommended that a workshop be held with the Mayor and Council in order to provide a full understanding of the various issues involved. At this workshop, Southern California Edison representatives will make a presentation concerning electricity issues. Recommendations It is recommended that the Mayor and Council schedule a luncheon workshop with Southern California Edison for Monday, February 5, 2001, at 12 noon in the EDA Board Room.
