STAFF REPORT
The Engineering Division was requested to investigate
the traffic safety conditions at the intersection of Mt. View
Avenue and Thompson/37th Street. The primary concerns were
the speed of traffic and the number of accidents at the inter-
section.
Mt. View Avenue is designated as a collector street,
carrying 6800 vehicles per day at the above named location.
Six accidents have been reported since August of 1986. The
combination of traffic volume and accident history meets the
State warrants for a 4-way stop control.
The request for a 4-way stop was discussed at the Mayor's
Traffic Safety Committee meeting of 9-9-87. The Committee sub-
sequently recommended the installation of a 4-way stop at the
location to improve traffic safety.

RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 2482 ENTITLED IN PART "A RESOLUTION...DESIGNATING
CERTAIN STREET INTERSECTIONS WHERE A STOP IS REQUIRED. .."; AND
AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF A STOP SIGN ON MT. VIEW AVENUE
AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH THIRTY-SEVENTH STREET.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Resolution No. 2482, which designates
certain street intersections where a stop is required, Section
One is amended to include Subsection (12.1b) to read:
(12.1b) for the purpose of stopping traffic entering
37th Street at its intersection with the following streets:
MT. VIEW AVENUE
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
Bernardino at a meeting thereof, held on the
