F-88-01
The proposed purchase is for Communications Servers (Multiplexers)
to be utilized in daily operations by the Data Processing Department.
At the request of the department and in co-ordination with the Data
Systems Manager, appropriate specifications were prepared and furnished
to area suppliers. The following is a summary of Bids received:

Five vendors were solicited, one vendor responded properly. One vendor
chose to no bid and one vendor submitted a bid late. No bid markings
were on the envelope as required. Legally this bid should have been
returned. There was no way to tell this was a bid until opened. The
Bid Bond required was also not furnished. This bid was in the amount
of $33,114.00.
Specifications as bid have been reviewed with the Data Systems Manager
who concurs that the bid at PRC meets specifications and requirements.
It is therefore recommended that the bid be accepted for contract.
The equipment is in the 1986/87 Fiscal Year Budget for moving the police
VAX 750 to City Hall connections.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A BID
TO PRC/PUBLIC MANAGEMENT SERVICE INC. FOR THE FURNISHING AND
DELIVERY OF COMMUNICATION SERVERS (MULTIPLEXERS) TO BE UTILIZED
BY THE DATA PROCESSING DEPARTMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH BID SPECIFI-
CA'rION F-88-01.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. PRC/Public Management Service Inc. is the lowest
and best bidder for the furnishing and delivery of Communication
Servers (Multiplexers) in accordance with Bid Specification
F-88-01 for the total amount of $32,354.00; pursuant to this
determination, the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and
directed to issue a purchase order for said Communication
Servers (Multiplexers) to said lowest and best bidder; such
award shall only be effective upon the issuance of a purchase
order by the purchasing Agent; and all other bids therefor
are hereby rejected.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
adopted by the Mayor and Common council of the City of San
