Synopsis of Previous Council action:

Recommended motion:
That a finding be made that the relocation of sewer facilities, to
accommodate construction of the Route 30 Freeway, from Highland Avenue
to "H" Street, in accordance with Plan No. 7116, is needed for health
and safety reasons.

STAFF REPORT
Some of our sewer facilities will have to be relocated,
in order to facilitate construction of this section of the Route
30 Freeway.
Construction of this portion of Route 30 is deemed
necessary to complete the freeway westerly to Route 1-215 Freeway,
and an interim connection to Highland Avenue. Studies have shown
that a vehicle traveling on a freeway is less likely to be in-
volved in a traffic accident. The construction of this freeway
is expected to lower the traffic accident rate for this area of
the City, and thereby reduce the number of persons killed or
injured.
We recommend that a finding be made that relocation of
these sewers is needed for health and safety reasons.
