STAFF REPORT
During the Personnel Committee meeting of July 28, 1987, it was
recommended that the Extra Relief Heavy Laborer hourly rate be in-
creased from $4.40 to $5.00 per hour. This increase will be funded
by the Refuse Fund. It was also recommended that the Senior Companion
Program Coordinator be given a 5% increase (to $12,86 at the top
step). This position is primarily grant funded. The cost in match-
ing funds to provide this increase is less than $1,200 per year to
the City.

LUTION 6413 ENTITLED IN PART "RESOLUTION . . . ESTABLISHING A
BASIC COMPENSATION PLAN...... AND PROVIDING A 5 PERCENT PAY
INCREASE FOR THE CLASS OF SENIOR COMPANION PROGRAM COORDINA-
TOR RETROACTIVE TO JULY 6, 1987, AND PROVIDING A PAY IN-
CREASE FOR THE PART-TIME CLASS OF EXTRA RELIEF HEAVY LABORER
FROM $4.4000/HR. TO $5.0000/HR., EFFECTIVE AUGUST 3, 1987.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Resolution No. 6413, Section Thirteen is
amended to read as follows:
"SECTION THIRTEEN: Temporary/Part-Time Employees:
The following classes of employment shall be paid on
a flat basis in accordance with the following schedule:
