Recommendad moti,on:
1. That the Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department be authorized
to request proposals for social service program funding from all interested social
service agencies in the City of San Bernardino with a closing date for receiving
proposals of May 27, 1987.
2. That the social service request for proposal criteria include data on the agencies'
in-kind contribution and the service units for the proposed program.

The Council Ways and Means Committee requested on May 4, 1987, that the Parks, Recrea-
tion and Community Services Department seek authorization from the full Council to
request proposals for social service program funding on a city wide basis. In addition,
the Committee requested that proposal criteria include information on the in-kind
contributions and the service units for the program for which funding from the City
is requested.
For the past several years the City has funded eight separate programs. The current
year is funding a total of $82,458 for these programs.
Justification for Placement on the Supplemental Agenda
In order to request proposals and receive them in time to review and select the agencies
to be funded in FY 1987-88, this request for authorization to seek proposals should
appear on the May II, 1987 Agenda.
