ORDINANCE NO.
2 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING CHAPTER
10.16 OF THE SAN BERNARDINO Mu~ICIPAL CODE PERMITTING THE
3 EXElI',l>TION TO PARKING RESTRICTIONS WHEN PERliITTED BY
RESOLUTION.

5 BERNARDINO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
6 SECTION 1. Chapter 10.16 of the San Bernardino Municipal
7 Code is amended by adding thereto Section 10.16.180 to read:
8 "10.16.180 Exemption to parking restrictions - Issuing
9 of permit.
10 A. Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter
11 limiting or restricting the parking or standing of vehicles on
12 certain streets or highways, or portions thereof, .~f ~lf all
13 or certain hours of the day, vehicles displaying the
14 ~~~ate preferential parking permit as hereafter provided
15 may park on streets designated by resolution and'shall not be
16 subject to applicable parking limitations or restrictions;
17 provided, however, such exemption shall not be permitted at
18 loading zones or when parking is completely prohibited under
19 all circumstances.
20 B. The Superintendent of Public Buildings/Parking
21 Control shall issue a preferential parking permit, not to
22 exceed two permits per dwelling, to persons whose residence is
23 adjacent to designated streets in a time limit parking zone
24 when permitted by resolution and upon application therefor.
25 A fee shall not be required for issuance or reissuance of any
26 preferential parking permit.
27 The permits shall be valid for only the same block upon
28 which the residence or business is located or in cases of

corner locations, the permits shall be valid on the two
contiguous blocks.
The permits shall be valid for the period specified
thereon. The permit shall be displayed on the vehicle as
directed by the Superintendent of Public Buildings/Parking
Control.
C. For all permits issued under this section, the
Superintendent of Public Buildings/Parking Control shall keep
a record of each permittee's name, address, vehicle license
plate number, California driver's license number, date of
issuance, expiration date, if any, and any other information
required for the proper administration of the issuance of
permits."
