Synopsis of Previous Council action:
12-17-84 Transfer of $32,705 from Patton Park North to Perris Hill
Park approved.
01-05-87 Plans approved and authorization granted to advertise for
bids.
02-11-87 Resolution No. 87-54 adopted awarding a contract to Redlands
Paving, Inc. for the low bid price of $59,533.31.
Recommended motion:
1. That Change Order No. One to the contract with Redlands Paving, Inc.
for the resurfacing of Perris Hill Parking Lot be approved; to
authorize the Contractor to patch the existing sewer trench for an
increase in contract price of $2,100.29, from $59,533.31 to
$61,633.60.
2. That the work performed by the Contractor, in accordance with Plan
No. 7167 be approved and accepted; and that final payment be
authorized at the expiration of the lien period.

STAFF REPORT
In order to complete the construction of improvements at Fiscalini
Field in time for the opening game, the sewer work was removed from
the clubhouse contract. The patching of the sewer trench was per-
formed by Redlands Paving as a portion of the pavement resurfacing
work. Due to weather delays and work with adjacent contractors,
some increased labor costs were experienced, and these costs cannot
be reimbursed under the contract bid items.
The total cost of contract Change Order No. One is $2,100.29,
increasing the contract price from $59,533.31 to $61,633.60.
All work under this contract was satisfactorily completed on
April 13, 1987. The specified contract completion date, including
allowances for weather related delays, was April 8, 1987. The
Contractor completed the work 5 calendar days beyond the prescribed
completion date.
The contract was awarded for the low bid price of $59,533.31.
Contract Change Order No. One for trench patching, increased the
contract price to $61,633.60. The actual final contract price is
$60,916.12 due to an increase in the amount of actual asphalt con-
crete used, the deletion of the pavement cold planing bid item,
and $500.00 assessed as liquidated damages for 5 calendar days.
We recommend that Contract Change Order No. One be approved, and
the work be approved and accepted, and final payment be authorized
at the expiration of the lien period.
