At the Council Meeting of 3-23-87, a motion was adopted directing that a
Report on the Estimated Cost be presented at the next meeting.
Attached is a report prepared in accordance with this directive. This
report shows the estimated cost of basic renovation and furniture for
each department. Funding sources are also shown. Revenue from increased
rents are deposited into the Public Building Renovation Fund.
Department funds will be used to finance the cost for modular work stations,
in those areas covered by a lease. These leases provide that structural
revisions to the building will be borne by the City, with other costs pro-
vided by the user department.
Basic renovation includes items such as: removing and installing walls,
replacing ceiling tiles, moving ceiling lights, air-conditioning vents,
electrical receptacles, and telephone connections, painting, installing
carpet, and acquiring modular work stations (including chairs). Installa-
tion of tile and wall coverings in the common areas are also included.
Costs for furniture are comprised of new items necessitated by the renova-
tion and recently approved additional positions.
A Summary of Projected Revenue in the Public Buildings Renovation Fund is
also provided. This summary shows sufficient funds will be received in
the 1990-91 Fiscal Year to cover the total estimated cost of $685,983, to
be financed from the Public Buildings Renovation Fund. It will be necesssary
to secure a loan, or phase the renovation work over the next 2 fiscal years.
