STAFF REPORT
Engineering Division was requested to investigate traffic
safety conditions at the intersection of Bangor Avenue and
Piedmont Drive, by the Serrano Junior High School.
Bangor Avenue intersects Piedmont Drive forming a "T"
intersection. Piedmont Drive has a curb to curb width of 44
feet and carries an average daily traffic volume of 800
vehicleS/day. The intersection is currently striped with
school pedestrian crosswalks and is heavily utilized by both
pedestrian and vehicular traffic. The traffic volumes in the
area are expected to continue to increase upon the completion
of two major residential developments currently under
construction.
The request was discussed at the Mayor's Traffic Safety
Advisory Committee. The Committee has subsequently recommended
the installation of a stop sign on Bangor Avenue for the
Nor thbound tra ffi c.

RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING RESOLUTION
NO. 2482 ENTITLED IN PART "A RESOLUTION . . . DESIGNATING CERTAIN
STREET INTERSECTIONS WHERE A STOP IS REQUIRED. . .", AND
AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF A STOP SIGN ON BANGOR AVENUE AT
ITS INTERSECTION WITH PIEDMONT DRIVE, FOR NORTHBOUND TRAFFIC ONLY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Resolution No. 2482, which designates certain
street intersections where a stop is required, section One
Subsection 136.05) is amended to read:
"136.05) For the purpose of stopping traffic entering
PIEDMONT DRIVE at its intersection with the following streets:
La praix Avenue
Bradford Avenue - applicable to northbound traffic only
Pepper Street
Laverne Avenue
Bangor Avenue - applicable to northbound traffic only.
