Council Notes: 7~.0262 ~ Agenda Item NO.~ CI,o OF SAN BBRNARDIQ) - REQUEOr FOR COUNCIL AC'QDN STAFF REPORT The 1986-87 Budget provided $19,000 for the purpose of promotion and Publicity (001-091-53030 - Special Projects). All of the budgeted funds have been ~llocated by the Mayor and Common Council through the recommendations of the Ways and Means Committee. The last allo- cation of funds was the amount of $5,500 to the Inland Empire Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. At the time of that allocation direction to staff was to: 1. Identify an additional $1,500 to be provided to the Inland Empire Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. 2. Identify an additional $7,000 to be placed in the Promotion Fund for use for therernainder of the fiscal year as desig- nated by the r~yor and Common Council through the Ways and Means Committee. The requested $8,500 is available from savings in Account 001-092-53706 (r~dicare Benefits). The amount of $65,000 was budgeted for the City's portion of federally mandated Medicare contributions for employees hired after April 1, 1986. The budgeted amount was based upon an estimate and actual experience indicates that the requested $8,500 i.s ava,ilable for transfer. RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE INLAND EMPIRE HISPANIC CHAMBER OF COMMERCE RELATING TO ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR PROMOTING AND PUBLICIZING THE CITY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 11 12 13 14 15 SECTION 1. The Mayor of the City of San aernardino is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of said City an Agreement with Inland Empire Hispanic Chamber of Commerce relating to funding for promoting and publicizinq the City, a copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference as fully as though set forth at length. City and Contractor agree as follows: 1. Recitals. A. city and Contractor entered into an agreement on February 17, 1987, (hereafter "the agreement") relating to funding for promoting and publicizing the city. B. The agreement currently provides for funding in the amount of FIVE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($5,500.00); City and Contractor now desire to amend the agreement to provide for an additional ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,500.00), bringing the total sum paid by City to Contractor to SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($7,000.00). 2. Amendment. Paragraph 4 of the agreement is amended to read: "4. Pavments. City shall pay Contractor for all publicity and advertising services to be conducted under the provisions of this agreement the total sum of SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($7,000.00), of which FIVE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($5,500.00) has previously been paid to Contractor, payable in such amounts and at such times prior to June 30, 1987, as may be approved by the Director of Finance.
