STAFF REPORT
As requested, a study was performed as to what positions, if
any, could assume the full duties of the Conservation Crew
Supervisor. The study concluded that such duties should not
and could not be assigned to existing City staff and that the
separate classification of Conservation Crew Supervisor
should be retained.
The classification of Conservation Crew Supervisor is cur-
rently a temporary class at $1750 per month in the office of
the Mayor. As it was funded last year for another 12 months,
with additional funding highly likely; it is recommended that
this position be recognized as full time and receive
appropriate benefits.
It is recommended that the classification of Conservation
Crew Supervisor be placed in the Middle Management unit at
R2096, $1580 to $1926 per month. Assuming 1 year of employ-
ment at salary step 3 and a 30% fringe benefit cost, the
permanent position for a 12 month period amounts to $27,242
as opposed to $21,000 for the temporary position.
