STAFF REPORT
Bid Spec. F-87-18
The prosposed purchase is for 94 litter receptacles to be used at various locations around'
the city. At the request of the department, and in co-ordination with the Public Services/
Refuse Superintendent, appropriate specifications were prepared, published, and furnished
to area custodial equipment suppliers.
Twelve (12) bidders were solicited, five (5) acceptable bids were received, one (1) invalid
bid, one (1) no bid, other bidders failed to follow the no bid response request for reasons
of no bid in the bid package.
Two (2) bidders offered alternates which were not considered as adequatelY meeting level of
quality specifications.

The bid of Chern-Lite Industries has been reviewed with the Public Services/Refuse
Superintendent, who concurs that it meets specification. It is therefore recommended
that the bid be accepted for contract. The amount of $18,550.00 was included in the
1986/87 budget for this equipment.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A BID TO CHEM-LITE
INDUSTRIES FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF NINETY-FOUR (94) ALL WEATHER
LITTER RECEPTACLES TO BE UTILIZED BY THE PUBLIC SERVICES/REFUSE DEPARTMENT IN
ACCORDANCE WITH BID SPECIFICATION F-87-18.

SECTION 1. Chern-Lite Industries is the lowest and best bidder for the I
furnishing and delivery of 94 all weather litter receptacles in accordance with

Bid Specification F-87-18 for the total amount of $18,528.34; pursuant to this

determination, the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed to issue
a purchase order for said litter receptacles to said lowest and best bidder;
II such award shall only be effective upon the issuance of a purchase order by
the Purchasing Agent; and all other bids therefor are hereby rejected.
