I would like to request a Special Meeting of the Mayor and
Common Council to be held February 19, 1987 at 4:00 p.m. in
the Redevelopment Agency Board Room located on the Third
Floor of City Hall for the purpose of awarding a contract for
t construction of a clubhouse at Fiscalini Field.

Field, per Plan No. 715~-A
Synopsis of Previous Council action:
11/17/86 -- Resolution No. 86-443 adopted expressing support in the
relocation of the Ventura Gulls, Class "A" Baseball Team to
San Bernardino.
12/13/86 -- Council Ways & Means Committee reviewed proposed lease and
directed the City Engineer to proceed with preparation of
the plans for the Capital Improvements.
12/22/86 -- Resolution adopted authorizing execution of a letter-type
proposal from L. A. Wainscott & Associates for architect-
ural/civil engineering services.
Recommended motion:
That the Report of Bids, for Construction of a Clubhouse at Fiscalini
Field, in accordance with Plan No. 7154-A, be accepted and filed.

01-05-87 Pl ans approved and authori za ti on granted to adverti se for
bids.
02-02-87 -- Bids rejected and authorization granted to re-advertise.
Bi ds for thi s project were recei ved at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February
19, 1987.
A total of 3 bids were received, ranging from $172,404.54 to
$221,061.00. The low bid of $172,404.54 is 35.2% over the
Architect/Engineer's Estimate of $127,500.00.
Listed below is an estimate of the total project cost, based upon the
actual low price bid.
Construction Contract $ 172,405
Architect's Fee (Portion of $20,250.00) 9,050
Engineer and Inspection (Portion of $15,000.00) W.O. #1791 6,700
Sub-Total $ 188,155
Contingencies (5 Z) :t 9,345
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 197,500
An amount of $380,000.00 has been allocated to cover the cost for
construction of a clubhouse and bleacher addition for Fiscalini Field.
The amount designated for the clubhouse was $130,000.00.
We recommend that the Report of Bids be accepted and filed.
