The proposed purchase is for refurbishing aerial ladder fire truck utilized in daily
operations by the Fire Department. At the request of the department and in co-ordination
with the Fire Chief. appropriate specifications were prepared and furnished to area
suppliers, The following is a summary of bids receivedo

Three bidders capable of providing this unique service were solicitedo Two choose to
respond 0 One no bid. one with bid figure beyond budgeto Bid package was in staff
committee for determination since bid opening. Staff did make some adjustments in
amount of work required which changed the bid figure downward to $116.00,00 Bid open-
ing determined only one bidder was willing and able to meet the Cities requirement. so
work adjustments were discussed with this vendor onlyo A further consideration was the
liabilities obligation of original manufacturero Committee agreed that to serve the
best interest of the City and to accomplish extending the life of the apparatus by
fifteen (15) years and still be assured some manufacturers warranty was to allow
Seagrave Fire Apparatus Inc, to refurbish the 1962 aerial ladder truck,
Budget transfer of $116.000000 approved for the 1986/87 Budgeto

RESOLUTI ON NO 0
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A BID TO THE
SEAGRAVE FIRE APPARATUS INC. FOR THE REFURBISHING OF ONE 1962 AERIAL
LADDER FIRE TRUCK TO BE UTILIZED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT IN ACCORDANCE
WITH SPECIFICATION NO, F-87-9.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 10 The Seagrave Fire Apparatus Inc, is the sole bidder for
the refurbishing of one 1962 aerial ladder fire truck in accordance with
Specification No, F-87-9, at a total cost of $116,00,00; that such bid is
satisfactory and in accordance with Specification No. F-87-9; pursuant to
this determination, the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed
to issue a purchase order for said refurbishing of one 1962 aerial ladder
fire truck to said lowest and best bidder; and such award shall only be
14 effective upon the issuance of a purchase order by the Purchasing Agent.
15 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the
