LA:-- c. , Council Nota.: 11.0211 Agenda Item No. 9, 1- - - CI~ OF SAN BERNARDQo - REQU.Qr FOR COUNCIL ACQoN STAFF REPORT All construction under this contract was satisfactorily completed as of January 29, 1987. The contract was awarded for the low bid price of $61,903.00. The actual final contract price is $63,958.93 due to a cost of $2,055.93 to install three additional traffic control loops, a type III electrical ser- vice, and approximately 110 feet of rigid conduit. This extra work was authorized by contract Change Order No. 1 on a cost not to exceed $2,800.00 basis. During construction, street improvements were constructed on Sixth Street by the developer of the adjacent property to the west, necessitating the rerouting of the series street lighting circuits, and installation of a 240 volt circuit. The contractor submitted a price quote of $500.00 and agreed to perform this work. However, the contractor would not sign the approved Change Order No.2 and would not perform the work. The rerouting and addi- tional circuits were performed by others, and Contract Change Order No.2 was rescinded. We recommend that the work be approved and accepted, and final pay- ment be authorized at the expiration of the lien period.
