()II SAN BERrQRDINO - REQUEST ~R COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT Assessment No.1 A complaint was received on July 27, 1989 in regards to abandoned vehicles located at 942 No. Waterman Ave. The owner was issued a five day courtesy notice and no volunteer action was taken and. a formal legal ten (10) day notice was issued on July 31, 1989. Legal notice was mailed to land and registered owners. No action was taken and no appeal was filed. Vehicles were abated on August 11, 1989. There were five (5) vehicles abated at a cost of $138.50 per vehicle, for a total of $692.50. CASE NO. 89 VAP 321-07 75-0264 1JI o o EXHIBIT "A" Assessment No.1. All that real property situated in the City of San Bernardino, County of San Bernardino, State of California, described as follows: Tract No: Lot No. 29 Page 14 Assessor's No.: 140-182-14 Address of Affected Property: ~t of Assessment: $692.50 942 No. Waterman Ave. S.B. 92410 (Owner:) Eric Cameron -Case No. 89 YAP 321-07 '..' . o 0 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO ASSESSING 3 CERTAIN PARCELS OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN TII8 CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO FOR THE COSTS OF ABATEMENT OF PUBLIC 4 NUISANCES ON SAID PROPERTIES (CASE NO. 89 VAP 321-07) 5 WHEREAS, the City of San Bernardino, pursuant to its authority 6 under Chapter 8.36 of the San Bernardino Municipal Code, did lawfully give 7 notice of and thereafter abate public nuisances found to exist on the 8 properties described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated in this 9 resolution; and 10 WHEREAS, pursuant to the San Bernardino Municipal Code, the 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 Superintendent of Public Buildings served notice to all property owners of the abatement costs for removing abandoned, wrecked, dismantled, and/or inoperative vehicles or parts thereof from the property; and WHEREAS, opportunity for a hearing before the Board of Building Commissioners to protest the abatement costs was afforded the property owners, with no response forthcoming; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON. COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Mayor and Common Council confirm and adopt as special assessments, the following abatement costs which have been incurred by the City for the abatement of public nuisances found to exist on the following. properties: Assessor's No. 140-182-14 Assessment No. 1 Property Amount of Address Assessment 942 No. Waterman Ave. $692.50 The legal description of each parcel is detailed in Exhibit "A" VlO:mal August 21, 1989 o o 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 SECTION 2. The above assessments shall be paid to Public Buildings' Parking Control, basement of City Hall, 300 N. "0" Street, San Bernardino, CA. 92418, within thirty (30) days after notice of this reBOlution is mailed to all parties with an interest in the above properties. all assessments not fully paid in tbirty (30) days shall become a Hen on the property pursuant to the San Bernardino Municipal Code and shall be collected as a special assessment thereon. SBCTION 3. If the above assessment is not paid as hereinabove provided. the City Clerk is directed to file a certified copy of this resolution with the Auditor of the County of San Bernardino, State of. California, directing that said assessment be entered as a lien against the property as it appears on the current assessment rolls. The assessment shall be collected at the same time and in the flame manner as the general property taxes for the City of San Bernardino including penalties and interest for delinquent payments. The City Clerk shall also present for recording appropriate notices of the imposition of these liens with the County Recorder.
