STAFF REPORT
Assessment No. 1
A complaint was received on June 28, 1989 in regard to eight (8) abandoned
vehicles located at 775 So. Gifford, San Bernardino.
On July 18, 1989 formal legal ten (10) day notice was mailed to land and
registered owners. Seven (7) vehicles were removed, and on August 2, 1989 we
towed one vehicle and issued eight (8) five (5) day courtesy notices.
On August 23, 1989 we reinspected and towed two (2) remaining vehicles.
There were a total of three (3) vehicles towed for a total of $415.50.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF
CERTAIN PARCELS OF REAL PROPERTY
SAN BERNARDINO FOR THE COSTS
NUISANCES ON SAID PROPERTIES
SAN BERNARDINO ASSESSING
LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY OF
OF ABAT:8MBMT OF PUBLIC
CASE NO. 89 YAP 263-06/08
WHEREAS, the City of San Bernardino, pursuant to its authority
under Chapter 8.36 .of the San Bernardino Municipal Code, did lawfully give
notice of and thereafter abate public nuisances found to exist on the
properties described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated in this
resolution; and
WHEREAS,
pursuant to the Sa!'l Bernardino Municipal Code, the
Superintendent of Public Buildings served notice to all property owners of
the abatement costs for removing abandoned, wrecked, dismantled, and/or
inoperative vehicles or parts thereof from the property; and
WHEREAS, opportunity for a hearing before the Board of Building
Commissioners to protest the abatement costs was afforded the property
owners, with no response forthcoming;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Mayor and Common Council confirm and adopt as
special assessments, the following abatement costs which have been incurred
by the City for the abatement of public nuisances found to exist on the
following- properties:

1 SECTION 2. The above assessments shall be paid to Public Buildings'
2 Parking .Contro1, basement of City Hall, 300 N, "D" Street, San Bernardino.
3 CA. 92418, within thirty (30) days after notice of this resolution is mailed to
4 all parties with an interest in the above properties. all assessments not
5 fully paid in thirty (30) days shall become a Hen on the properly pursuant
6 to the San Bernardino Municipal Code and shall be collected as a special
7 assessment thereon.
8 SECTION 3. If the above assessment is not paid as hereinabove
9 provided. the City Clerk is directed to file a certified copy of this resolution
10 with the Auditor of the County of San Bernardino, State of California,
n directing that said assessment be entered as a lien against the property as it
12 appears on the current assessment rolls. The assessment shall be collected
13 at the same time and in the same manner as the general property taxes for
14 the City of San Bernardino including penalties and interest for delinquent
15 payments.
16 The City Clerk shall also present for recording appropriate notices of
17 the imposition of these liens with the County Recorder.
