02-17-86 --- Authorization to proceed was granted and Resolution No. 86-46 was
adopted, making application to LAFCO for the proposed,annexation
Recommended motion:
That the Director of Public Works/City Engineer and the City Clerk are
authorized to proceed with the proposed annexation of that territory
generally located East of Tippecanoe Avenue, and North of the 1-10 Freeway.

STAFF REPORT
A request was received by a property owner owning property within the area generally
located between Tippecanoe Avenue and Mountain View Avenue, North of the 1-10 Freeway,
for annexation. '
,The City had previously received a petition from another property owner in 1986, and
authorization to proceed was given. Resolution No. 86-46 was adopted on 02-17-86,
making formal application to the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO). At that
time, however, not enough interest was generated to successfully annex this area, and
since more than a year had lapsed since the City's filing the application with LAFCO,
the application was terminated by LAFCO.
The petitioner has indicated to us that there are several other property owners within
the proposed territory that have shown an interest and a desire to be annexed to the
City of San Bernardino, for the purpose of receiving City services, andchas indicated
to us that he will have those property owners submit letters to the City also.
This territory is bounded on the North and West side by the City of San Bernardino,
and lies within the City's Zone of Influence, as determined by LAFCO. It is bounded on
the East by the City of Redlands, and on the South by the 1-10 Freeway and the City of
Loma Linda.
Staff feels that with the newly generated interest for annexation, a successful
annexation attempt eQuId be made for this territory, and recommends that authorization
be given to proceed with the proposal. If authorization is given, a Resolution making
application to LAFCO will be prepared and submitted for approval.
