APPROVAL OF SALARY ADJUSTMENTS FOR REDEVELOPM[NT
AGENCY EMPLOYEES FOR FISCAL YEAR 1989/90

09-19-88 The Commission approved by motion salary Increases for the general
employees.

Recommended Motion:
That the Commission approve the attached Salary Schedule and
authorize the Agency to pay the full seven percent employee PERS
contribution for all .employees within the classifications listed
on the schedule effective July 3. 1989.

STAFF REPORT
Redevelopment Agency
ThIs Is to request that the Commission approve the attached Salary Schedule
to provide for a three percent salary adjustment for all position
classifications other than management/confidential; and; authorize the Agency
to pay the full seven percent employee PERS contribution for such employees.
BACKGROUND
On July 5, 1989, the Mayor and Common Council approved a three-year MOU for
General Unit employees In the City. Included in the agreement was a three
percent salary adjustment and full payment (an additional one percent) of the
employee PERS contribution for all employees within the bargaining group.
Employees in similar position classifications within the Agency have not been
represented by unions In the past, however, these employees have
traditionally received the same salary and benefit adjustments that have been
negotiated for City employees. The costs of providing these adjustments for
the current fiscal year Is $16,201. Funds are available and may be
authorized In accordance with the Agency's continuing budget resolution
adopted on June 19, 1989.
To Implement these adjustments, It Is recommended that the Commission approve
the attached Salary Schedule and authorize the Agency to pay the full seven
percent employee PERS contribution for all employees within the
classifications listed on.the. schedule effective July,. 1989.
