San Bernardino Mayor and City Counci I Members
On August 7, 1989, Mr. Jerry Butler Introduced a statistics sheet to the
Mayor and Council (copy attached). The sheet listed 7 Mobile Home Parks
as rent gougers. Included was the Royal York Estates. He pointed out that
in our Park the rents for double wide spaces went up 125.00% in the last
10 years.
Attached is a sheet showing how the rent has increased over the last
10 years, which shows infact that the rent increase was on ly 55.20%. This
represents a difference of 69.80%.
If the Royal York Estates figures are grossly exaggerated, then the
validity of the other figures should be called into question as well.
It would be a great Injustice for the Mayor and Council to consider this
"Statistics Sheet" when formulating a decision on the rent control issue.
