APPROVAL OF $5,200 FROM 1ST WARD PARK STAFF REPORT
EXTENSION FUNDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
AND INSTALLATION OF ^ MONUMENT SIGN
FOR LA PLAZA PAHK.
La Plaza Park, located at 6th Street and Mt. Vernon Avenue, gets heavy public use
by the surrounding neighborhoods. It has also been utilized in the past for Cinco
de Mayo celebrations, drawing several thousand participants. Due to its location
on a major thoroughfare, the park is viewed daily by thousands of motorists.
The park does not have an identifying sign. The monument sign proposed for this
site will be consistent with department sign standards and monument signs at other
city parks. The sign will help identify the park as well as enhance its aesthetics
and cha racter.
This request has been coordinated with the Council Office.
