CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
A request was received to install stop signs on the Birch
Street and Poplar Street approaches to Pennsylvania Avenue.
These intersections are currently uncontrolled.
The Traffic Engineering staff completed an investigation
in response to this request. The investigation concluded that
the requested stop signs are warranted, due to limited
visibility.
The Traffic Safety Committee considered this request at
their meeting of August 14, 1996. The Committee concurred with
the findings of staff, and recommended that stop signs be in-
stalled on Birch Street and Poplar Street at Pennsylvania Avenue.
We recommend that the installation of these stop signs be
approved.
Also included in the attached resolution are stop signs
that were previously approved on other approaches to Pennsylvania
Avenue. Some of these stop signs were approved under Resolution
No. 2482. For consistency, it is recommended that they be in-
cluded in Resolution No. 655.
