Recommended motion:
1. That Change Order No. Two to the contract with Excel Landscape for
the maintenance of Assessment District No. 993, in accordance with
Plan No. 8155, be approved 1 to extend the contract for a period of
one year, from 7-1-92 to 6-30-93, increasing the scope of work to
include the retention basin on Cristy & Don Diego Avenues, and
increasing the contract price by $4,486.60, ::rom $14,957.30 to
$19,443.90.

The Special Provisions provide that the contract may be
extended for up to two (2) one-year periods, by mutual consent
of the City and Contractor. Adjustments in the contract prices
are to be negotiated at the time of each such renewal.
Contract Change Order No. Two will extend the contract
for a period of one year, from 7-1-92 to 6-30-931 expanding the
scope of work to include the retention basin on Cristy and Don
Diego Avenues, and increase the annual contract price from
$14,957.30 to $19,443.90.
Landscaping within the retention basin at Cristy and Don
Diego Avenues, of Assessment District No. 993, has been
installed by the subdivider, as required by the conditions of
approval for the tract. The one year plant establishment period
will terminate on June 30, 1992, and the landscaping will be
accepted by the City for maintenance at that time.
The maintenance of this landscaping will be incorporated
into the contract with Excel Landscape for Assessment District
No. 993. Price quotes were requested from the Contractor. For
the period from 7-1-92 to 6-30-93, these quotes total $4,486.60,
for the extra work in the expanded contract.
Below is an estimate of the total cost for providing
these landscape maintenance services, from 7-1-92 to 6-30-93.

Funds to finance the costs incurred for the contract and
incidental costs will be provided through an interfund loan from
the Sewer Line Construction Fund (245). The actual costs in-
curred will be recovered in the following year through assess-
ments on the parcels within Assessment District No. 953.
Inspection of the maintenance effort by the Contractor
will be provided by the Department of Parks, Recreation and
Community Services.

The terms and provisions of the contract documents are hereby
amended as follows:
1. The term of the contract is hereby extended for an additional
year, from July 1, 1992 to June 30, 1993, as provided in the
"Notice Inviting Bids".
2. The scope of work is hereby amended to include the Retention
Basin located at Cristy and Don Diego Avenues.
3. Compensation to the contractor for landscape maintenance of
Assessment District No. 993 will be made in accordance with the
unit prices for the Basic Bid and Supplemental-Items of Work on
the attached BID SCHEDULE, at a $4,486.60 increase in the
contract price.

INTERFUND LOAN FROM THE SEWER LINE CONSTRUCTION FUND (245) TO THE
SPECIAL ASSESSMENT FUND (251), IN THE AMOUNT OF $28,152.00 TO
FRONT THE ESTIMATED COSTS TO BE INCURRED DURING THE 1992-93
FISCAL YEAR, IN CONNECTION WITH THE MAINTENANCE OF LANDSCAPING IN
IN RETENTION BASINS IN TRACTS NOS. 14184 & 14185, THROUGH
ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 993.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Director of Finance is hereby directed to
make an inter fund loan from the Sewer Line Construction Fund
(245) in the amount of $28,152.00, to front the estimated costs
to be incurred during the 1992-93 Fiscal Year, in connection with
the maintenance of landscaping in retention basins in Tracts Nos.
14184 and 14185, through Assessment District No. 993.
SECTION 2. The loan from the Sewer Line Construction
Fund (245) shall be repaid with interest, at the prevailing
rate, in the 1993-94 Fiscal Year from assessments
