1. That Change Or er No. Four to the contract with Excel Landscape,
Inc. for maint nance of landscaping in Assessment Districts Nos.
974, 975, 981 986 & 989, in accordance with Plans Nos. 6998,
7118-A, 7316, 7~45 Ii 7781 be approved to extend the contract for
a period of one year, from 7-1-92 to 6-30-93, at a 3.75%
increase to the contract unit prices.

The special prov~s~ons provide that the contract may be
extended for up to two (2) one-year periods, by mutual consent of
the City and Contractor. Adjustments in the contract price are
to be negotiated at the time of each renewal. Excel Landscape
Maintenance, Inc. previously agreed to an extension of the
contract for one year, from July 1, 1991 to June 30, 1992.
Contract Change Order No. FOUR extends the contract for the
second of the (2) one-year periods.
Change Order No. FOUR will extend the contract for a
period of one year, from 7/1/92 to 6/30/93. There will be a 3.75%
increase in contract unit prices for the contract items from the
91/92 landscape maintenance period with no increase in contract
unit prices for landscape maintenance of Tract 13656, incorpo-
rated into Assessment District No. 981 as of 4/1/92; increasing
the contract price by $1,720.77, from $48,282.00 to $50,002.77.

Funds to cover the costs incurred for the contract and
incidental costs will be provided through an interfund loan from
the Sewer Line Construction Fund (245). The actual costs
incurred will be recovered in the following year through assess-
ments on the parcels within Assessment District No. 953.
Inspection of the maintenance effort by the Contractor
will be provided by the Department of Parks, Recreation and
Community Services.
We recommend that Contract Change Order No. FOUR be
approved, and authorization granted for an interfund transfer
from the Sewer Line Construction Fund (245).

The terms and provisions of the contract documents are hereby

1. The term of the contract is hereby extended for an
additional year, from July 1, 1992, to June 30, 1993, as
provided in the "Notice Inviting Bids," with a 3.75%

Districts 974, 975, 981, 986 and 989.
