Junior University has applied for the use of FOR Bowl and perris Hill Picnic Area in perris Hill Park from May 2 through August 3, 1992 for its annual performance. By Resolution, rental fees for this use would be $4,716. Additionally, J. U. desires to conduct a picnic on July 26 in celebration of its 30 year anniversary. Rental fees for picnic area and stage at perris Hill Park is $75.00. Junior University has been conducting youth theatre at FOR Bowl for two decades. Attendance exceeds 15,000 each summer. Junior University has acquired a $1 million liability policy. They have requested that the premium costs for this policy be accepted in lieu of the rental costs due to the high cost for the insurance. This request is in conformance with the conditions of Resolution 91-35 for waiver of fees. 5/7/92 u 75.0264 r .ltoll,. The last twenty- eight years we have held our productions in Roosevelt Bowl in Perris Hill Park. Our attendance of Inland Empire resi- dents has grown to eighteen thousand during the two week run of our annual production, which is held each summer. As a non-profit organization, our income is derived from ticket sales, program advertisements and the sale of soft drinks and snacks during intermission. Our budget is as always is very limited. Junior University is, and probably will continue to be, the Bowl's largest participants and as such, we are requesting that the City accept the Junior Univer- sity's payment of the insurance premium in lieu of the rental fees for the use of Roosevelt Bowl~ Junior University is pro- viding a $1,000,000.00 comprehensive liability policy that covers the City. The premium on this policy is very costly and the additional expense of rental costs would make our financial arrangements extremely difficult. Junior University performance dates are July 19 through August 1, 1992. Your consideration in this matter is greatly appreciated.
