Synopsis of Previous Council Action:
June 6, 1999 Allocated $60,000 from Traffic Systems Construction Fund in the FY 1999-
2000 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
Recommended Motion:
Approve plans for the modification of traffic signal at Pacific Street and Arden A venue per
Plan No. 10030, and authorize the Director of Development Services t Advertise for Bids.

Subiect:
Approval of Plans and Authorization to Advertise for Bids-Modification of Traffic Signal at
Pacific Street and Arden Avenue.
Backl!round:
Plans for the modification of the traffic signal at Pacific Street and Arden A venue have been
completed and the project is ready to be advertised for bids. This consists of providing a
protective/permissive left-turn operation from Arden Avenue Northbound to Pacific Street
Westbound, upgrading A.D.A. push buttons, and installing new street name sign.
Below is an estimate of the total project cost.
Construction Contract $47,000
Engineering & Insoection $ 4,700
Sub Total $51,700
Continl!:encies 15% $ 7,755
TOTAL $59,455
Financial Imuact:
Funding for this project in the amount of $60,000 was approved in the FY 1999/2000 Capital
Improvement Program and all costs incurred will be charged to the 1999/2000 Traffic System
Construction Fund budget under Account No. 250-370-5504-7170.
Recommendation:
That the Mayor and Common Council Approve Plan No. 10030 and authorize the Director of
Development Services to advertise for bids for the modification of the traffic signal at Pacific
Street and Arden Avenue.
