Recommended motion:
That the plans for repair of the roofs for the Mill and Hernandez
Community Centers, and replacement of the air fan evaporative
coolers wi th air-conditioning units, for the Hernandez Conununi ty
Cen ter , in accordance with P Ian No. 8689 , be approved; and the
Director of Public Works/City Engineer be authorized to advertise
for bids.

STAFF REPORT
Plans for the rehabilitation of the Mill and Hernandez
Community Centers have been prepared by the Engineering Division,
and the project is ready to be advertised for bids. The project
consists, in general, of replacing the roofs for the Mill and
Hernandez Community Centers, and replacing the air fan evapora-
tive coolers at the Hernandez Centers with air-conditioning
units.
Below is an estimate of the total project cost:
Construction Contract $ 95,050
Engineering & Inspection (W.O.#1431 & 1432) 4,000
Sub-Total $ 99,050
Contingencies (15%)t 14,950
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 114,000
An amount of $90,000 has been allocated from Community
Development Block Grant Funds, in the 1990/92 Budget, to finance
the cost for these improvements. It is planned for an item to be
on the Agenda for 5-18-92 to provide the necessary supplemental
funds.
We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization
granted to advertise for bids.
