(Cont. on 2nd Paqe) Recommended motion: 2. That Change Order No. 4 to the contract with Executive Landscape Contractors, Inc., for maintenance of landscaping in Assessment District No. 976, in accordance with Plan No. 7034-B, be approved; to extend the contract for a period of one year, from 7-1-92 to 6- 30-93, at a 3. 75% increase in the annual contract prices, from $25,937.44 to $26,910.10. That the transfer of $38,966.00, from Acct. Council Notes: 75-0262 Agenda I tern No. /5 CITY' OF SAN BERK. ..RDINO - REQUEST L.')R COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT The Special Provisions provide that the contract may be extended for up to two (2) one-year periods, by mutual consent of the City and Contractor. Adjustments in the contract prices are to be negotiated at the time of each such renewal. Contract Change Order No. 4 extends the term of the contract for one year, as allowed under the special provisions of the contract. The contract was previously extended from July 1, 1991, to June 30, 1992, wi th no increase in contract uni t prices. However, the Contractor has agreed to accept a 3. 75% increase in contract unit prices for the 1992-93 renewal period, increasing the annual contract price from $25,937.44 to $26,910.10. Listed below is an estimate of the total cost for pro- viding these landscape maintenance services, from 7-1-92 to 6- 30-93: Maintenance Contract $ 26,910.10 Incidental Costs (Assessment Engineering, Publishing & Recording Fees, Supervision by Department of Parks & Recreation and Advertising for Bids) 12,055.00 TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 38,965.10 Funding for the costs incurred on this proj ect will be provided pursuant to Resolution No. 86-341, adopted on 8-19-86, Resolution No. 87-9, adopted on 1-05-87, Resolution No. 88-67, adopted on 3-7-88, and Resolution No. 90-199, adopted 6-4-90, which order the installation and maintenance of the landscaping. The landscaping was installed under previous contracts. Costs for maintenance will be pre-funded by the City, as set forth in the Resolution of Intention (No. 86-341) and the amount reimbursed through assessments levied on all parcels within the district for the following fiscal year. Inspection of the maintenance effort by the Contractor will be provided by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services. We recommend that Contract Change Order No. 4 be approved.
