The Mayor and Common Council approved a Resolution to awarding a contract to RePipe - California, Inc. for sewer line rehabilitation by Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) Method, for two locations in Sierra Way and one location in Northpark Boulevard (SW- E, SW07-04, SW07-05), per Project Plan No. 12148. CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT Subject: Authorize the Director of Development Services to execute Contract Change Order No. One with RePipe - California, Inc. for Sewer Line Rehabilitation by Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) Method at two locations in Sierra Way and one location in Northpark Boulevard (SW-E, SW07-04, SW07-05), per Project Plan No. 12148. Background: In October 15, 2007, the Mayor and Common Council approved a Resolution to RePipe - California, Inc. for Sewer Line Rehabilitation by Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) Method at two locations in Sierra Way and one location in Northpark Boulevard (SW-E, SW07-04, SW07-05), per Project Plan No. 12148. Change Order: During the first phase of construction it was determined that the size of the sewer pipes were different than what was shown on the plans. One stretch of the sewer main was identified on the plans to be 10 inches and when the pipe was uncovered it was actually 8 inches. The change in size resulted in a reduction of the cost in the pipe. In another stretch of the sewer main the pipe was identified on the plans to be 8 inches and when the pipe was uncovered it was actually 10 inches. The change in size resulted in an increase to the cost of the project. Six manholes were discovered buried in the median under asphalt and needed to be raised and made flush with the surface of the street. Change Order No. One, in the amount of$80,382.50 is an increase of $7,759.50 to the original contract. Item No. 1-1 Item No. 1-2 Item No. 1-3 Change of 10" size pipe to a 8" size pipe. Change of 8" size pipe to a 10" size pipe. Raising six (6) Manholes. Financial Impact: The revised estimated project costs are as follows: TOTAL Orillinal Contract Amount $ 211,861.00 Deleted Bid Items $ 72 623.00 Contract Chanlle Order No. One $ 80,382.50 Revised Contract Amount S 219.620.50 Administrative Costs S 31,779.00 Total Proiect Cost S 251399.50 This change order represents a net increase of 3 .66% in the contract amount. It is actually 8 inches in diameter; therefore. the IO-inch product was exchanged for 8-inch. Increase Bid Item #4 to-inch Pioe t-2 The plans indicated the sewer main on Sierra between Parkdale St & 40th Street to be 8 inches in diameter. It was actually 10 inches in diameter. The 8-inch product was exchanl!ed for the IO-inch. Raise Six (6) Manholes t-3 Raise 6 manholes.
