Set public hearing to discuss rate
increase for residential & commercial
refuse collection

Synopsis of Previous Council action:
7/17/89 __ Resolution No. 89-255 authorizing rate increase due to an increase in
landfill tipping fees was approved.
6/18/90 __ Resolution No. 90-244 authorizing rate increase due to an increase in
landfill tipping fees was approved.
7/1/91 __ Resolution No. 91-288 authorizing rate increase due to an increase in
landfill tipping fees and repealing Resolution No. 90-244 was adopted.
Recommended motion:
That a public hearing be set for Monday, June 1, 1992 at 10:00 a.m. for the purpose
of receiving public comment relative to a proposed increase in the residential and
commercial refuse collection rates.

STAFF REPORT
The San Bernardino county Board of supervisors has approved a 25%
increase in county landfill tipping fees to be effective July 1,
1992.
This will result in a considerable increase in City refuse rates
which requires a public hearing.
It is, therefore, recommended that a public hearing be set for June
1, 1992 at 10:00 a.m.
