STAFF REPORT
The Traffic Engineering Section received a request to
install 2-way stop signs at the intersections of Magnolia Avenue
at 15th Street and Evans Street with Perris Street. .
A study was conducted by the Traffic Engineering Section,
which indicated that sufficient justification currently exists to
warrant the installation of stop signs for all three intersecting
streets.
At their meeting of 3-11-92, the Traffic Safety Advisory
Committee concurred with the findings of the study and
recommended the installation of stop signs on these three inter-
sections with Perris Street. Declaring Perris Street a through
highway, from 14th Street to 16th Street, is necessary to allow
stop signs to be installed as reco~ended at these locations.
Stop signs are currently in place for all other streets
intersecting Perris Street, between Base Line Street and 14th
Street. However, these were approved under a different ordi-
nance. To avoid confusion, this portion of Perris Street should
also be declared a through highway and included in this
ordinance.
We recommend that the attached resolution be approved.
