DescriPtion) Finance: Council Notes: 75-0262 ..:5 -/ Agenda Item No. I CITY OF SAN BE~RDINO - REQUEST COR COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT AUTHORIZATION FOR APPLICATION AND ADMINISTRATION OF $1 MILLION HUD SPBCIAL PURPOSB GRANT FOR RENOVATION AND REPAIR OF PBRRIS HILL PLUNGB. The Federal Appropriation Act of 1992 included a $1 million special Purpose Grant through the Department of Housing and Urban Development to renovate and repair perris Hill Park Plunge and bathhouse. This grant does not require any match and will enable this facility to be upgraded to current day health codes. perris Hill Plunge was built in the mid-1930's and has numerous problems and sub-standard conditions that include: daily water loss of 70,000 gallons gutter drainage inadequate by current standards inadequate circulation outlets by current standards deck drainage and slope is inadequate by current standards code and mechanical deficiencies in chlorination and filtration system major deterioration in bathhouse The grant appropriation is expected sometime in early summer with a target date for project completion set for June 1993. 4/1/92 u 75-0264
