Synopsis of Previous Council action:
10-21-86 Resolution No. 86-437 adopted awarding a contract to
IPS Services for the low bid price of $52,160.52.
06-15-87 -- Extension of contract with IPS for 90 days approved,
and Director of Public Works/City Engineer authorized
to advertise for bids.
09-08-87 -- Resolution No. 87-315 adopted awarding a contract to
Arrow Power Sweeping for the low bid price of
$42,000.00.
06-20-88 -- Resolution No. 88-213 adopted renewing the contract
for a one year period, from 7-1-88 to 6-30-89, for an
increase of 5%, to account for cost of living
increase, from $42,000.00 to $44,100.00.

Recommended motion:
That Change Order No. 2 to the contract with Arrow Power Sweeping,
for the Sweeping ServiceD for Central City Mall Surface Parking
Lots and 3-Level Parking Structure, in accordance with Plan No.
7085, be approved; to extend the contract for a period of one
year, from 7-1-92 to 6-30-93, at a 5% increase to the annual
contract unit price, from $47,698.00 to $50,082.90.

STAFF REPORT
The Special Provisions provide that the contract may be
extended for up to four (4) one-year periods, by mutual consent
of the City and Contractor. Adjustments in the contract prices
are to be negotiated at the time of each such renewal. The
Contractor is in agreement with the contract being extended.
Contract Change Order No. 2 will extend the term of the
contract for a period of 1 year, and increase the contract price
by 5%. Since there was no adjustment in the contract price for
1991/92, we feel this increase is justified.
Funding for the costs incurred on this project will be
provided from Account No. 001-323-53115, Central City Mall,
under "Custodial Services," to finance the costs for sweeping
services.
We recommend that Contract Change Order No. 2 be
approved.
SYNOPSIS OF PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION Continued:
Change Order No. One approved to renew the term of
the contract for a period of one year and increase
the contract price from $44,100.00 to $45,854.00.
