Dept: City Clerk Date: March 19, 1992 Synopsis of Previous Council action: 4/15/91: City Council appointed a Task Force to come back with options for redistricting of Council ward boundaries. 1/06/92: City Council unanimously voted to set a public hearing for Monday, February 3, 1992, to allow for public input prior to adopting an ordinance amending existing ward boundaries. 2/03/92: Public hearing took place and staff directed to make minor changes and report back on February 17, 1992. 2/17/92: Public hearing closed. City Council approved changes to boundaries for the seven wards as presented by the Ward Redistricting Task Force and directed City Attorney to prepare ordinance amending Ordinance 3222 to change the existing boundaries. Recommended motion: That said ordinance be laid over for final adoption. Municipal Code. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Since the public hearing on February 17, 1992, staff consisting of Ruth Parish, G.I.S. Coordinatori Valerie Ross, Principal Planneri Les Fogassy, Sr. Real Property Specialisti and Jeanne Fitzpatrick of the City Clerk's Office have met to verify the legal descriptions for the new boundaries of each of the seven wards. The City Attorney's Office was represented by Dennis Barlow, Sr. Asst. City Attorney. The attached ordinance reflects the ward boundary changes approved by the City Council on February 17, 1992. ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING CHAPTER 1.16 OF THE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE AND REESTABLISHING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE.SEVEN waRDS OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO. THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: i SECTION 1. This ordinance is adopted in order to divide the area of the City of San Bernardino into seven wards pursuant to section 3 of the Charter of said City. SECTION 2. Sections 1.16.020, 1.16.030, 1.16.040, 1.16.050, 1.16.060, 1.16.070 and 1.16.080 of the San Bernardino Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as follows: "1.16.020 First Ward.
