STAFF REPORT
The City received a request from San Bernardino Associated Governments
Grant of Easement over a portion of City-owned property (parking lot #3)
on the West side of Arrowhead Avenue between 4th Street and 5th Street.
for a

This easement is needed by San Bernardino Associated Governments in order to
have a telephone line installed between their main building at 472~. Arrowhead
Avenue and an office two buildings to the South of this address. They are asking
for an easement 6.00 feet in width. All lines and equipment will be installed
undergroillld by SANBAG. General Telephone Company will not allow SANBAG to use
their existing telephone cables which run underground in front of the buildings
facing Arrowhead Avenue because the phone system SANBAG uses is not owned by GTE.
General Telephone Company would only allow their systems or lines to be used.
There are no restrictions or covenants within the easement affecting the City or
its rights.
It is hereby recommended that the attached resolution be approved authorizing and
directing the execution of said Grant of Easement. A copy of said easement is
attached.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO GRANTING AN EASEMENT TO
SAN BERNARDINO ASSOCIATED GOVERNMENTS. OV111 CITY-OWNED PROPERTY LOCATED ON
. THE WEST SIDE OF ARROWHEAD AVENUE. BETWEEN 4TH STREET A/.m 5TH STREET.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That the City of San Bernardino execute a Grant of
Easement to San Bernardino Associated Governments for wlderground telephone
lines. incl uding rights of ingress and egress for construction and
maintenance.
SECTION 2.
That said Grant of Easement referred to herein. a
copy of which is attached hereto. marked Exhibit "A". and is hereby referred
to and made a part hereof as fully as though set out at length herein. is
hereby approved.
SECTION 3.
That the Mayor and the City Clerk of the City of
San Bernardino are hereby authorized and directed to execute said Grant of
Easement on behalf of the City of San Bernardino.

A strip of land 6.00 feet wide, and being a portion of Lot 7. Block 30. CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO, as per plat thereof recorded in Book 7 of Maps, Page 1. records of said
County. and lying 3.00 feet on each side, 4S measured at right angles to the following
described center line:
Co..encing at the Northeast corner of said Lot 7; thence South along the Eost line of
said Lot 7, a distance of 60 feet; thence West at right angles to said East line of Lot
7, a distance of 136.00 feet to the True Point of Beginning; thence Southwesterly. in a
straight line, a distance of 44.00 feet. .ore or less, to a point in a line which is
parallel with and 155.00 feet West of the East line of said Lot 7, said point being South
