Dept: Personne 1 Date: December 5, 1991 __ Synopsis of Previous Council action: On October 7, 1991, the flayor and Common Council authorized the execution of an agreement for $4,975 with COMP PLUS for a management/confidential compensation study. On December 5, 1991, The Council Personnel Committee made recommendations to: (1) receive and file the study; and, (2) authorize the City Administrator to act as the negotiator with the Management/Confidential negotiating team, recognizing the City's budget shortfall. Recommended motion: 1. Receive and file the Management/Confidential Compensation Study from COf.1P PLUS. 2. DescriPtion) Finance: Council Notes: 75-0262 Agenda Item No. II CITVQF SAN BERNAADINO - REQUEST FOI COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT Section 2B of council Resolution No. 89-129, Paragraph 2, states that: "A salary survey shall be conducted in odd-numbered years, beginning in 1989, by an independent firm selected by the Mayor and Common Council. The survey shall compare salaries of the classifications covered by this resolution with like or similar classifications in other similarly situated municipalities." The firm selected for the survey in 1991 was COMP PLUS, at a cos~ of $4,975. Jon Roberts, President, SBCMA, and the three-member Management Advisory Committee (Annie Ramos, Phil Arvizo and Diane Roth) presented the Compensation Study to the Personnel Committee on December 5, 1991. Exhibit "A" is the Final Report from COMP PLUS dated December 2, 1991, and received December 5, 1991. Recommendations: 1. Receive and file the Management/Confidential Compensation Study from COMP PLUS. 2. Authorize the City Administrator to act as the negotiator with the Management/confidential negotiating team, recognizing the city's budget shortfall.
