Synopsis of Previous Council action:
Allocated a total of $569,950 to finance the expansion of Nunez
Park.
Recommended motion:
That the plans for Phase I of the expansion of Nunez Park, in
accordance with Plan No. 7946, be approved; and the Director of
Public Works/City Engineer authorized to advertise for bids.

STAFF REPORT
Plans f9r Phase I of the expansion of Nunez Park have been
prepared by the Engineering Division and the project is ready to
be advertised for bids. The project entails clearing and
grubbing, grading, installation of utili ties, fencing, irriga-
tion system, landscaping, street improvements, and security
lighting, from the existing improvements west to the private
access road east of the Fourth-Fifth Street intersection, as
shown on the attached map. This road will not be disturbed by
the improvements to be constructed as Phase I.
Below is an estimate of the total project cost:
Construction Contract $ 456,778
Engineering & Inspection (W.O. #1837) 23,080
Sub-Total $ 479,858
Contingencies (15%):t 71,142
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 551,000
Installation of a bridge over the Flood Control Channel is
included in the special provisions as Additive Alternate "A."
The estimated cost of this bridge is $200,000. This item is
included in the contract documents in the event that sufficient
funds can be identified to finance the actual bid price.
