Bids for this project were opened at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 11-19-
91.
A total of 7 bids were received, ranging from $22,285.00 to
$54,050.00. The low bid of $22,285.00 is 16.3% under the Engi-
neer's Estimate of $26,635.00.
Below is the total estimated project cost based upon the actual
low bid price.

An amount of $33,600 was originally allocated under Account No.
121-544-52544-00000-0066, to finance the cost of installing this
sewer main. A supplemental allocation of $17,500 has subse-
quently been made to finance the Water Department's cost of
installing a new water line in Second Street, in order for the
existing line in the 10 foot alley to be abandoned. It will be
necessary to abandon the existing line, since there is
insufficient room in the alley for this facility and the new
sewer line.
We recommend that a contract be awarded for the low bid price.

RESOLUTION NO..
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A
CONTRACT TO KINGDON & SONS, INC., FOR INSTALLATION OF A SEWER
MAIN IN PICO STREET, BETWEEN KING STREET AND AN ALLEY SOUTH OF
SECOND STREET; AND IN ALLEY FROM PICO STREET TO A POINT 295 FEET
WEST.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 .
Kingdon & Sons, Inc., is the lowest
responsible bidder for:
Installation of a Sewer Main in pico
Street, between King Street and an alley south of Second Street;
and in alley from Pico Street to a point 295 feet west, per Plan
No. 8431. A contract is awarded accordingly to said bidder for
the total amount of $22,285.00, but such award shall be effective
only upon the contract being fully executed by the parties. All
forth at length.
SECTION 2.
This contract and any amendment or modifica-
tions
thereto shall not take effect or become operative until

fully signed and executed by the parties and no party shall be
obligated hereunder until the time of such full execution.

amendments,
agreements,
or
are
intended or authorized and shall not be implied from any act or
course of conduct of any party.

SECTION 3.
This resolution is rescinded if the parties
to the contract fail to execute it within sixty (60) days of the
passage of this resolution.
