The above referenced letter specifically denoted arsas Which require remedial action to bring the occupancy of the building to compliance. The ensuing negotiations between the Bconomic Development Agency, Fire Department and Planning and Building Servicss resulted in a letter agreement dated October 17, 1991. The details of the said agreement will require that the Bconomic Development Agency install the following items as a mitigation to remedial action of Fire and Building Code violations: 1. Building fire spriDlt1ers, even though the entire first floor of the office building retail complex is fire spriDlt1ered, floor two (2) and three (3) of the office tower are not. The remedial action shall be to install a building fire spriDlt1er system on floors two (2) and three (3) at a cost of approximately $40,000.00. 2. Additional compliance entails the installation of miscellaneous safety features within the occupied third floor of said office building. The approximate cost of the total miscellaneous aeasures is approximately $15,000.00. 3. Since the above referenced work will be performed in occupied office space it will be necessary to contract for additional labor for the removal and reinstallation of ceiling tile and grid system. Additionally, this contract aha11 be expanded to include the protection and clean up of the office furniture and improvements. The approximate cost of the clean up and protection work is approximately $5,000.00. 4.
