Recommended motion:
1. That tbe Director of Public Works/City Engineer and tbe City Clerk are
authorized to proceed witb tbe proposed vacation of tbat portion of Irvington
Avenue lying Westerly of Magnolia Avenue, with tbe exception of the
intersection of Little League Drive and Irvington Avenue.
2.
That Plan No. 6601, showing the proposed vacation of a portion of
Avenue lying Westerly of Magnolia Avenue, excluding the inte
Little League Drive and lrvington Avenue, is roved.

STAFF REPORT
The proposed vacation of that portion of Irvington Avenue lying Westerly of Mag-
nolia Avenue, excluding the intersection of Little League Drive and Irvington
Avenue, is City initiated in order to limit the City's liability for this
unimproved street.
Irvington Avenue Westerly of Magnolia Avenue is considered a "paper" street as no
street improvellents have been constructed. Since there are no plans to extend
Irvington Avenue Westerly there is no longer any need for the City to retain the
right-of-way. Much of the Irvington Avenue right-of-way is used for flood
control purposes. Vacation of the Irvington Avenue right-of-way would reduce
liability to the City.
As the proposed street vacation is city initiated the usual $750 fee for street/
alley vacations is waived.
Staff hereby reco..ends Authorization to Proceed with the proposed vacation and
the approval of Plan No. 8601.
