Mrs. Jones' resume is attached for your convenience and review. During the September 10, 1991 meeting of the Mobilehome Rent Board, Roberta Shouse stated that she was unable to continue and would have to resign because of illness. At that meeting the Mobilehome Rent Board had begun consideration of the first large rent increase request brought in front of the entire board. The immediate replacement of another neutral member to fill this term is crucial in that the next meeting of the Mobilehome Rent Board on this hardship request is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17, 1991, at 1:00 p.m. Your immediate consideration and approval of this request would be greatly appreciated. Over the years we expanded to six Ca1 Permit, Inc. locations with offices in San Bernardino, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Marysville, Redding, and Fresno. Truckers Network expanded to almost 100 facsimile machines in and around California. The two companies together employed twenty-four 24 regular employees and over 100 independent contractors. We sold both companies to Comdata Corporation in March of 1990. I was vice president and chief financial officer of both corporations through August of 1988. At that time I became acting president of both during the negotiation of the sale to Comdata. I would like to become a member of the Mobi1ehome Rent Board to utilize my business background as an asset to the City and Community in helping to interpret the mobi1ehome ordinance. In this manner I would be able to help to stabilize the rents and improve the quality of life within the mobi1ehome parks. It is my belief that I have a responsibility to my community to use my talents to make life better for my fellow human beings, especially for our senior citizens who are finding it difficult to make ends meet. As a business person I also understand the need that the park owners have to make a profit while providing quality housing for the residents of the City of San Bernardino. .
