These proceedings are done in accordance with the 1941 Street Vacation Act. This fee was set through an administrative action by the City Administrator. It is recommended that this fee be formally established by resolution at $1,000, in order to reflect actual costs incurred for these proceedings. Below is an estimate of cost for a typical vacation proceeding: overhead - $686.40 X 0.30 = $ 686.40 205.92 125.00 Salaries - 32 hours X $21/45/Hr. = Publishing Total Average Cost $1,017.32 Items of work necessarily done to accomplish a vacation are: preparation of map, notification of all utility companies and City Department, secure authorization to proceed, have Reso- lution of Intention adopted, post notices along area requested to be vacated, public legal notice, have Resolution Ordering Vaca- tion adopted, record Resolution Ordering Vacation and amend Street Vacation Index Maps to reflect vacation. About 20 street vacation proceedings are processed each year. Therefore, the additional annual revenue that will be received from increasing this fee is $250 X 15 = $3,750. This fee will not apply to City initiated vacations. We recommend that a public meeting be set for the Council meeting of 10-21-91. 9-10-91 75-0264
