STAFF REPORT . The Spirit organization has requested the use of Fiscalini Field for a non-baseball event on November 24, 1991. The event will feature a concert by the music group "Kansas" which is being staged for Spirit by promotor Paul Sanders. Attached are letters from Steve Smith of the Spirit requesting use of the facility and from Mr. Sanders which explains the event and the arrangements with Spirit. Mr. Sanders states that a cash contri but i on wi 11 be made to Ci ty to help to "sound proof and upgrade the Roosevelt Bowl..." Mr. Sanders promoted a concert in Roosevelt Bowl on September 8, 1991. Paragraph 4 of the agreement between Spirit and the City provides for Spirit use of Fiscalini Field for non-baseball related activities up to 15 times each calendar year, subject to City Council approval. In addition, the Spirit is to bear all costs of such non-baseball events, including utilities, and Spirit shall also pay to the City 5% of the gross receipts received for such non-baseball activities. We will be staging a concert. The group "Kansas" will be the featured performers. The Spirit will work with Promoter Paul Sanders in the staging of this concert. Tickets, park operations and concessions will be handled by the Spirit staff. Your earliest response and support would be greatly appreciated. You will find no sex, drugs or violent lyrics in their songs. This will be the first Southern California appearance by Kansas in 5 years. Your support for this classic rock concert would be greatly appreciated. I will make a cash contribution from our profit to help sound proof and upgrade the Roosevelt Bowl in Perris Hill Park.
