STAFF REPORT
The Traffic Engineering Section received a complaint
concerning parking from the owner of "Today' s Furni ture and
Waterbeds," a business located on the east side of "E" Street,
between Orange Show Road and Orange Show Lane.
In October of 1990, "No Parking" and "2-hour parking"
zones were implemented in the area of Orange Show Lane and "E"
Street. Subsequently, motorists who used to park in these areas
shifted to the front of the requester's business where parking
remained unrestricted. Parked employees of nearby businesses
usually park in front of the requester's business all day,
thereby eliminating the availability of on-street parking to his
patrons.
An investigation conducted by the Traffic Engineering
Staff confirmed the requester's concerns.
To alleviate this situation, the Traffic Engineering Staff
recommends that a 2-hour parking zone be implemented along this
portion of "E" Street. This is consistent with the other parking
restrictions that currently exist in the area.
We recommend that the resolution be adopted.

STREETS, ALLEYS, OR PORTIONS THEREOF. . "; AND AUTHORIZING THE
